Payroll and Benefits Specialist (Direct Hire!)

Summary:



  • Processes bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including all pre-payroll preparation, timekeeping auditing, submission, and payroll related reporting.



  • Maintains accurate employee information such as payroll deductions, pay data, withholdings, etc. and ensures compliance with all legal requirements and satisfactory internal/external audit reviews.



  • Maintains regular contact with the payroll service provider, ensuring contract compliance and accurate and timely deliverables.



  • Completes year-end and any off-cycle payroll reporting as necessary.



  • Coordinates various reports for tax and audit purposes with the Payroll & Benefits Manager.



  • Maintains technical competency and remains current in technology and changes in the industry.



  • Provides daily benefits administration for all plans including medical, dental, 401k, life, flexible spending, Health Savings Accounts, disability, PTO, etc.



  • Processes benefits documentation for new hire and terminating employees.



  • Prepares benefits invoice payments and ensures billing accuracy.



  • Completes various life event changes and benefit payroll deductions in HR system.



  • Performs all paid time off accrual processing and manages accrual process from technical and policy aspects.



  • Prepares various governmental reporting such as unemployment claims, PPACA compliance, and EEO-1 reports.



  • Resolves payroll and benefits related questions or issues with employees and/or managers in timely manner.



  • Prepares various internal human resources reports and completes special projects as directed.


 


 


 


Required Qualifications :

Requirements: 


 


3+ years of payroll experience, benefits experience including FMLA a plus. 


Proficiency with payroll and HR systems is required - experience utilizing Ultimate Software / UltiPro preferred.


Minimum of high school diploma or GED.   Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
